CHAPTER FIVE
Five years later Sandra and Abigail got good jobs and they were living fine, they both wished that their parent were alive to reap the fruit of their Labor. They knelt down and prayed for the repose of the souls of their late parents.
Sandra who liked chatting on Facebook and had been searching for a partner for a long time met Dennis Inikpi online and liked him because he was handsome and he had all the qualities she wanted in a man but the feeling wasn’t mutual, Dennis only saw her as a platonic friend and he loved her like a sister, he also assisted her whenever she needed help. To him she was not the kind of woman he wanted.
Abigail on the other hand was too busy with work and she never had the chance to check social media or even post her pictures on social media. She was the anti-social kind of girl and she also didn’t have time for guys or dating.
On one faithful Saturday Abigail went out for shopping and after picking all the things she needed, she wanted to pay to the cashier but she found out that her wallet was not with her. She immediately remembered that she left it on her dressing table because she was in a hurry to get to where she was going to, she was so embarrassed. There was queue behind her and the cashier himself was becoming impatient but he couldn’t show it because it was a customer. The guy behind her said "what is the problem?" and she explained, he helped her pay the cash and also offered to give her a lift home. At first Abigail refused but when he insisted she had to follow him because she knew she would be stranded.
To Dennis it was the happiest day of his life, he had wanted to catch her attention since she entered the shopping mall. He looked at her saying "what is your name pretty lady?"
"My name is Abigail Wilson and yours" she replied. Dennis was busy staring at her he didn't hear reply. Abigail had to repeat what she said. "Oh my name is Dennis Inikpi and am so pleased to meet you. Can I please have your contact? " he said. She smiled and gave him her number. Dennis was so excited to finally have her as a friend, he promised to call her and then dropped her off when she got to her bus stop.
Abigail ran all the way home, she didn't now why she was so excited. When she entered their apartment, she told her sister about what had happened at the mall and her sister said she would like to meet the nice guy someday.
Dennis never stopped calling, he kept trying to make Abigail love him the way he loved her but she kept proving stubborn. He told Sandra about the new love he found and she wasn’t happy about it but she didn’t tell Dennis neither did she reflect the way she felt. Dennis told her the name of the girl but he couldn’t send the picture because he didn’t have a picture of her so Sandra couldn’t suspect that he was in love with her younger sister. She advised him to be consistent and never relent and that the lady will grow to love him with time.
Dennis heed to the advice he was given he continued to call Abigail and invited her to outings. After several months of pleading, Dennis asked Abigail if she could give him a chance to show her how much he loved her and she said yes. Dennis was the happiest person on earth that day, he later dropped her off at home and Abigail insisted that he see her sister before leaving so he obliged.
Sandra opened the door when she heard a knock at the door, she was shocked to see Dennis and he was also shocked to see her. Abigail introduced them to each other and they both told Abigail that they knew each other via Facebook. Sandra was not happy at all but she tried to mask her feeling with fake smiles till Dennis left, Abigail asked her what was wrong and she said she was just having headache and that she needed rest.
